The following is a mini-tutorial on how to add an image to your sidebar and then have it link to the Stampin' Up! website page (for that given special, promotion or catalog).
In this example, we will use a link to the new Recruitment special.
- Login to Typepad.
First, upload the file of the image you want to use, such as the image you've created for the Recruitement special.
Go to Control Panel, then Files, and then click Browse to find the file to upload.
See the following tutorial for help on creating a sidebar image: http://www.blogsbyheather.com/2008/08/create-image-fo.html
- Once uploaded, click on the file (image) from the File Manager, so it opens in the browser. Select and Copy that address from the address bar of your Internet window.
- Click on the green Typelists tab.
- Click on Create New Typelist.
- For List Type choose Notes.
- For List Name, "Join Now for $99" (for this example).
- Click the Create New List button.
- In the next window, you do not need to enter a Label, but in this example, you could put "Recruitment Special".
- In the Notes section, type
<a href=”http://www.stampinup.com/us/documents/US_99_Start_Kit_promo.pdf” target=”_blank”> <img src="the location of your file from the File Manager" alt=”Join Stampin’ Up! Now for $99”></a>
- Click Save. Now, you've created the Typelist.
- Now, you have to choose to have it show on your blog.
- Go to your Weblog.
- Click on Design.
- Click on Select Content.
- Scroll down and from the Typelist area, now check the Join Now for $99 (the one we just added).
- Publish.
- Now it will appear on your blog!
For those using Advanced Templates, it is a little different in getting it to appear on your blog (contact me for additional instruction: blogsbyheather@att.net).
Hope this helps!
